The city of Cullman was first established in 1873 by Colonel John Gottfried Cullmann. Cullman, Alabama is located in Cullman County, about 30 miles south of Decatur. Smith Lake Park
Smith Lake has 21,000 acres spanning through Cullman, Walker and Winston counties with over 500 miles of shoreline. You will find several different marinas, embankments and Smith Lake Park located right in Cullman, Alabama. Smith Lake Park is open for camping year round. The park includes 9 cabins, 61 tent sites, 219 full service sites, playgrounds, picnic areas, a pool, fishing pier and a new boat launch. Fun fact – Smith Lake is among the top three cleanest lakes in the country.
Clarkson Covered Bridge
Clarkson Covered Bridge is one of the most well known attractions around Cullman, Alabama. Since being restored in 1975 by the Cullman County Commission, it has become a popular place for residents and visitors alike. Enjoy hiking trails, picnic areas, a dogtrot log cabin and a working grist mill. Several events are held here such as car shows, weddings, birthday parties and more.
Stoney Lonesome Park
If you’re looking for a place to ride your outdoor recreational vehicle, Stoney Lonesome Park is the place for you. This OHV park located in Cullman, Alabama is open year round and has several different trails for ATVs, dirt bikes, equestrians, hiking, rock crawlers and more.
